I agree with Celeste this video makes out this problem is a laughing matter, live with one of these people and you will know this is not the case. They are liars, they also know what they are doing. They make peoples lives a misery and seem to be able to convincingly lie their way out of most? things. The other thing they do is drag you down until you have no self esteem. I think it is also a form of abuse!!

Though I found the video clip somewhat interesting...the amount of laughter, and the fact the interview made the condition out to be light and frivolous was quite disturbing. Melody isn't fully explaining passive aggression. Passive aggression? is underlying conflict that is not resolved. Pent up bitterness and not being able to admit to the truth behind the bitterness. I agree with some of the posters that people can target their passive aggression toward certain people and less to others, depending on the other's personality, dynamic; etc.

Being that passive- ...
Being that passive-aggressive behavior is a learned behavior, I would speculate that there are many levels of this behavior & that certain? types of people would trigger my passive aggressive tendencies more than other types would. I have a free, easy, emotional expressive relationship with many people & we are good with that. But then there are a few rare people who I walk on egg shells with because of the leverage they have on me, and I get very unconscious and passive aggressive around them.

I think I have a duality of passive and aggressive actions. I can be 100% passive in some things and 100% aggressive in others. This? may be a little simplistic but the way I understand passive-aggressive is the desire to avoid conflict at all costs. Emotions and feelings are not vocalized or discussed and any activity that may require that be done is avoided. When passive aggressive people are angry they lie about it, and instead use subversive or underhanded means to get back at you instead of just voicing their unhappiness. They don't want to confront their unhappiness or conflict.
